Music Scholars for Palestine (MS4P) is an international grassroots coalition of researchers, educators, and scholars of music and sound who support the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI). Formed in summer 2024 through the collaboration of the Ceasefire Collective and the Society for Arab Music Research, MS4P has organized within the Society for Ethnomusicology to advance academic boycott, financial transparency, and divestment. Its members have worked through petitions, public education, democratic deliberation, and sustained engagement with SEM’s governing bodies to bring the resolution to a membership vote. MS4P remains committed to solidarity with Palestinian musicians, educators, and cultural workers, and to building scholarly institutions accountable to principles of justice, academic freedom, and human rights.
